In the spotlight

🚶

Pelter Skelter 🇧🇪, Vive la Fête

In the 1980s and '90s, Pelt, a small town in Limburg, became a hub for alternative music, with local youth embracing garage, punk, and metal. After a successful festival in 1987, the town saw the rise of the Pelter Skelter concerts in the local community hall, which became popular in the alternative music scene. However, after the hall's demolition, the Pelter Skelter events ended. Recently, with the opening of a new venue, the Zinne, a group of former Pelter Skelter fans and new enthusiasts are working on reviving the concept, calling it Pelter Skelter 2.0, aiming to bring back the same vibrant energy that once defined their musical community.

For many years now, Vive la Fête has ensured an exciting musical party on stage. Since 1997, the Belgian band of Danny Mommens (ex-bass player of dEUS) and Els Pynoo has been bringing danceable electro-rock, with a touch of kitsch and some new wave and French chanson lurking in the background.

The story

Finally, another concert of my beloved band, Vive la Fête! Okay, I may have bumped up the ISO too high, but on the other hand, it gives the pictures from the tiny, portable, but ancient NX Mini a grungy look that might even work in this scenario – and in these dark conditions, no motion blur! Had a great time with wonderful people, and thanks to the band’s drummer for cooperating in taking his flattering portrait!
